Notes
The Adjudication:
1 - well balanced opening statements with much detail emerging throughout this section. Controlled final chords.
2 - stylish side drum to open followed by rhythmic melodic phrases. This is classy in style and direction. Excellent balance troms at 92. So enjoyish to listen to the final section.
3 - controlled dynamics and warm sound at the outset. Excellent sop. At 119. Accomps a shade lod (p) for soloist (mf) but the music flows. 131 subtle change of pace and style. Secure climax to repoise of melody. This is really excellent ensemble and balance with the Grandisimo captured so delightfully. Well controlled to end(muted section not really in tune though)
4 - sensible tempo. I like the surges of the swirl of the tarantella. Dynamic contrasts well projected fugel voices well portrayed to 239. So much detail. Untidy final chords - what a shame!
5 - repoise of fanfares well stated and balanced. Try not to force final chords.
So much to enjoy. Thanks to MD and the band. Well rehearsed and presented. Congratulations.
Best instrumentalist award: Ffion Williams (Sop)
